Veteran makeup artist, Ann Marie Laurendeau offers an inclusive and non-competitive approach that allows students to acquire a better understanding of how to successfully choose and apply the right makeup products and colors to successfully satisfy their clients’ needs.

Following a practical makeup demonstration that emphasizes natural colors and professional techniques, students will then have the opportunity to practice their newfound knowledge directly on each other. As students apply each other’s makeup, Ann Marie will offer recommendations, guidance and tips that will help students gain the confidence needed to apply these techniques to their own clients in the future.

Beginner makeup artists aren’t the only ones that will value this workshop.  Hair and fashion stylists will also benefit from having a better understanding of the basics of applying makeup professionally.  This workshop may also be helpful for more established artists looking to update or sharpen their skills.  In all cases, the knowledge that is gained from this workshop is truly the best step towards increasing a makeup artist’s potential earning power.  The students will leave with more confidence in their individual abilities, due to the increased skills gained from this workshop.

Workshop Description:
With more than 20 years of hands-on experience in the field of bridal makeup and hair, and a vast portfolio of clients, Ann Marie Laurendeau, Boston Makeup Artist and Hairstylist and founder of Anemone Makeup, teaches everything you need to know about successfully applying makeup for weddings and other special occasions.

Wedding work is very different than the application of conventional makeup.  Ann Marie’s successful experience confirms that brides want three things:  1) they want to look like themselves, yet 2) they want a perfectly flawless and natural complexion, and 3) they want their makeup to last all day.  In addition, working with bridal parties requires that you have knowledge and experience to effectively apply makeup to a variety of skin tones and be able to work with people of all ages - from teens to Mothers.

Upon completion of this 2-part workshop, each participant will gain more credibility and confidence in their ability to achieve natural makeup finishes for their brides and bridal parties. Each attendee will also learn how to apply makeup to family members such as the mother-of-the-bride and/or -groom.  Included in this training will be the following takeaways:
