"Styling hair for a large stage or theatre performance almost always requires
working with wigs and hairpieces.
Even if the actor's or actress' natural
hair is attractive, often the costume designer or director will still
request that s/he wear a wig - it just gives more stage presence
to the character they are portraying, especially for a period piece.
Over
the years, I have had the great pleasure of working with all
types of stage and theatre hairstyling applications. I have worked
with everything from inexpensive costume wigs (which sometimes
proved difficult to work with) up to natural hair pieces, to very
expensive, custom,
handmade
human hair lace wigs. My experience hairstyling for the theatre
and stage has also proven to be very useful when working on corporate
and fashion
photo shoots that required creating stage characters." - Ann Marie
