Aspiring Makeup Artist Workshop - Basic Beauty Makeup (Session 1-2)

Veteran makeup artist Ann Marie Laurendeau offers an inclusive and non-competitive approach that allows students to acquire a better understanding of how to choose and apply the right makeup products and colors to successfully satisfy their client's needs.

With small class sizes, hands-on practice, and focused workshop content, students have the opportunity to explore a career as a makeup artist without a large financial commitment.

Session 1 - Workshop Description

The class begins with an overview of the makeup industry, followed by kit hygiene, work ethics and a description of the makeup products and brushes required to build a professional kit.

Following a practical makeup demonstration by Ann Marie that emphasizes natural colors and professional techniques, students will then have the opportunity to practice their newfound knowledge directly on each other or their model. As students apply each other’s makeup, Ann Marie will offer recommendations, guidance, and tips that will help students gain the confidence needed to apply these techniques to their own clients in the future.

• Classes are held on various Sundays and divided into 2 different sessions. It is recommended that both sessions be taken together. Students attending both sessions will receive a $100 discount off the total cost.

Session 2 - Workshop Description

This class offers students who have participated in Basic Beauty Session 1 an opportunity to learn different types of modern makeup styles, such as how to achieve ‘smoky eyes’. Students will also learn Ann Marie's signature technique for applying false eye lashes that look so gorgeous and natural no-one will believe they’re not real.

The class begins with an overview of the colors and products needed to create these looks, followed by a step-by -step makeup demonstration by Ann Marie instructing students on how to achieve these styles.

Students will then have the opportunity to practice their new skills directly on each other or their model.  As students apply each other's makeup, Ann Marie will offer recommendations, guidance, and tips that will help students gain the confidence needed to apply these techniques to their own clients in the future.
